Brogden - Experiences

With constant wind force 2.5 to 4 it flies quite stably, nearly majestically. With stronger wind I did not fly it yet, since he becomes quite course strong because of its size. The wind should occasionally times is missing sags it very fast. The kite has thus no pronounced sailing characteristics. We fly it with a 150daN strong polyester cord.

With gusty wind it however already occurred several times that it suddenly away-tilts to one side and is not caught again. If it well goes pulls it a circular path scarcely over the soil and again up; otherwise it rams itself however "majestically" head over into the soil. If the connector remains thereby welfare, however usually the head tube one separates cleanly. Therefore I now rather leave the Brogden kite with gusty wind in the kite bag.

I assume, which comes itself the missing ability again to put up by the balance cords attached outside at the wings. An Eddy kite straightens up e.g. much better again. Its balance is only in the center, and the wings have to align themselves the liberty fast again after the wind. I did not undertake attempts however yet.

As also is, the Brogden is despite its sensibilen flight characteristics one of the most beautiful kites.
