Hargrave - Experiences

The kite possesses only one balance of point. It should be manufactured therefore very carefully, so that in air no inclination or oscillating motion adjusts themselves later. Takeoff and landing can become somewhat difficult. Best a start with long line succeeds. With the landing one should let cord giving way and the kite stall strongly, so that he can put on the belly. The kite necessarily because of its weight wind force 4 to fly over properly and can be flown in any case to 7 Beaufort. It oscillated to sudden cross-wind well out. Very many flying hours do not have the kites yet on the embossment. Negative features were not noticeable to us so far however.

Uwe and Peter in the meantime already gained however experiences with small Hargrave models. The different flight tests ended however usually in small wood. The kite must have apparently a minimum size, so that it can fly stably with one balance of point.
